About:

Nick Dale is a multifaceted photographer, teacher, and writer whose journey into photography began at the tender age of 15. Initially encouraged to pursue academics, he studied English at Christ Church, Oxford, and spent several years in the strategy consulting field. However, the call of his true passion became undeniable. “I decided to go ‘quality of life’,” he recalls, transitioning to a career as a private tutor and an international award-winning wildlife photographer.

Nick’s professional photography journey ignited in 2013 after years of global exploration, including ski seasons and work in a tech startup. His adventures have taken him to 37 countries across all seven continents, with notable accolades like the Sunday Times/Audley Travel Big Shot award. “Photography is a way to connect with people and nature, and I want to celebrate wildlife in all its facets,” he explains, showcasing his love for capturing the beauty and raw power of the natural world.

With a significant amount of time spent in Africa, Nick has completed over 350 game drives and boat rides, photographing everything from leopards to cheetahs. His work emphasizes action shots, aiming to encapsulate the excitement of wildlife in motion. “My ideal image is a cheetah chasing a Thomson’s gazelle,” he states, underscoring his focus on dynamic compositions.

Nick’s expertise is complemented by his writing; he contributes articles to various photography platforms and has published multiple ebooks. As an educator, he leads workshops and lectures, sharing his knowledge with aspiring photographers. He has also been recognised with over 500 awards in international competitions, affirming his talent and dedication to the art.
