Avalon’s journey into photography is as inspiring as her work. A three-time college drop-out, she found herself hustling through various jobs while promoting her burgeoning photography business on Craigslist. Hosting $50 mini sessions in her apartment and carrying her gear on city buses, she tirelessly built her brand from the ground up.

Her breakthrough came as she noticed the power of personal branding on social media. “Photos of myself performed way better than anything else,” Avalon recalls. This realisation sparked an obsession with personal branding, leading her to help other small business owners achieve the same success.

Avalon’s philosophy is rooted in the belief that no one should settle for less than their ultimate vision. “I realised I was building someone else’s vision, and that’s what felt wrong all along,” she reflects. As an Aries who loves to be in charge, Avalon decided to channel her energy into her own vision, thus giving birth to Avalon Mohns Photography.

Recognising the limitations of traditional branding packages, Avalon offers a more comprehensive experience. She shoots on-location, allows for outfit changes, and provides various locations to ensure her clients receive a diverse range of high-quality images. “Small business owners have very specific needs when it comes to photography. They need longer sessions and more variety in their images because they need to be able to post a lot of content to social media without it looking the same,” Avalon explains.
